There has been no human victim in the regions where we operate, but animals died in numbers in the Mekong delta. In Vietnam the economic impact has been huge because the farmers were forbidden to carry their animals to large markets and as raising birds had become non profitable, they had to stop feeding them.

One estimates  today that approximately one quarter of the birds have disappeared, which is equivalent to 100.000 € per district per year. More training is needed, the farmers and women's groups organize specific sessions for Mekong Plus to better inform and explain: "On TV they speak too quickly, we must understand better".
